Around the world architects are looking at different ways to deal with the challenges of urbanism. The Seoul Biennale of Architecture 2017 begins on September 2nd and will run until November 5th. The theme for this year is Imminent Commons and will provide a better insight into urban architecture in the Korean capital and other cities around the world. There will be an exploration of “interactive regeneration”, those projects that seek to improve spaces and create a humanistic city. Continue reading

Turning a water tank into a modern home
Keeling House in Bethnal Green is one of the most iconic pieces of residential architecture London has, standing out as one of the best towers in the capital. The 16 storey block was completed in 1957 and the properties were all originally council houses. The building became the first piece of post-war council housing to receive Grade II* listed status in 1993. Between 1999 and 2001 it was given an award winning renovation and the homes became private residences. Continue reading
