The continued evolution of modern Finnish architecture

Finland’s architectural history spans over 800 years and is unique in how much it has changed over that time. Traditionally the design of properties was heavily influenced by designs in neighbouring Sweden and Russia. The influx of foreign architects and development of its own field of architecture in the 19th century brought dramatic changes. Extending and enhancing properties in conservation areas

We believe that architects have an inherent obligation to respect, preserve and enhance areas of historical or architectural interest. We regularly undertake public, commercial and residential projects that focus on enhancing the way people live and work whilst simultaneously preserving areas of special interest. One such project involved the design and construction of a two-storey home extension and garage to a family residence located in one of York’s conservation areas. Continue reading

A modern extension for a Queens Park home

We were recently happy to be shortlisted in the Architects Journal Retrofit Awards 2015 for one of our residential projects, adding an extension to an existing terraced property in Queens Park, London. With the Modern Side Extension / London, we aimed to provide a practical and beautiful solution to give the residents essential extra living space, incorporating innovative design elements and materials for stunning results.
